Depression Counseling

What is Depression?

Many of us will survive mundane days that seem harder than others. While occasional sadness is normal; clinical or major depression is an illness that can affect many aspects of a person’s day-to-day life. A person struggling with depression, can have sadness that can be so debilitating or overwhelming.  When depression is present, there (deep in the subconscious) are emotions like guilt and worthlessness, with supporting despair anchors or limiting belief(s). Daily tasks are an uphill battle; isolation or disconnection from friends and family is common. Major depressive disorder can linger for weeks before a mild reset occurs. Depression has many common symptoms, such as:

Brain fog, poor concentration

A loss of interest in most everything, life seems stale

Low energy

Bullied by hopelessness, worthlessness

Lack of restful sleep

Unhealthy changes in appetite

Physical & emotional aches and pains

Digestive issues

“Will to Die” or “No Will to Live Energies”

Depression is commonplace. The National Institute of Mental Health states:

17.3 million adults in the U.S. have experienced major depression at least once in their life

That equates to 7.1 percent of all adults living in the U.S.

Today, Psychology has listed depression into five major classifications, they are as follows:

 Clinical or Major Depressive Disorder

Persistent Depressive Disorder

Seasonal Affective Disorder

Postpartum Depression

Bipolar Disorder
